Samantha Heffernan, FNP-BC, RN

Samantha is a nurse practitioner with extensive experience in caring for patients with neurological and neuromuscular diseases. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Long Island University, Brooklyn and her Master of Science in Family Practice Nurse Practitioner from Felician University, Lodi, New Jersey.

Prior to joining Lange Neurology, Samanatha served as a Nurse Coordinator at Hospital for Special Surgery where she gained experience in collaborating with principal investigators on clinical trials and in administration of infusion therapies for neuromuscular diseases. In her role at Lange Neurology, Samantha manages the clinical research portfolio, conducts neurological assessments and evaluations to help diagnose and manage patient conditions, and performs infusion therapies. Her in-depth experience at facilitating clinical trials and administering infusion therapies at Hospital for Special Surgery uniquely qualifies Samantha to provide our patients with the highest standard of medical care.

Shannon Stevens, RN, CNRN

Shannon is a certified neuroscience registered nurse with extensive experience in administration of infusion therapies. She earned her Bachelor of Science in psychology from Le Moyne College and her nursing degree from Decker School of Nursing, Binghamton University.

Shannon possesses advanced clinical skills in specialized areas of neurology including stroke, epilepsy, and complex neurosurgical post operative procedures. Shannon’s experience in working with high-stake cases in fast-paced healthcare facilities such as at Mount Sinai Hospital and Hospital for Special Surgery ideally position’s her to provide efficient, accurate care to our patients. Shannon is a passionate advocate of the holistic approach, taking into account the well-being of the whole person during treatment and recovery.

Medina Marshall, RN, BSN

Medina is a registered nurse, specializing in infusion therapies with over five years of experience. She obtained her Bachelor of Nursing degree from Molloy College and is currently earning her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from Utica University with anticipated graduation date of summer 2025.

Medina has gained her clinical experience as a registered nurse at the Emergency Department—Level II trauma Center—of Mount Sinai Hospital and at the Emergency Department—Level I trauma Center—of NYCHH Bellevue Hospital. Prior to joining Lange Neurology, PC, Medina served as an infusion therapy nurse at the Hospital For Special Surgery. In her capacity at Lange Neurology, Medina assists Dr. Lange in executing infusion therapies and providing in-depth patient care.

Laura Manfredo, MS, MPT

Laura is a NYS licensed physical therapist with over 25 years of experience, including in pediatric and geriatric PT.  She has provided care in a variety of settings such as hospitals, acute rehabilitation facilities and private homes.

Laura earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from SUNY at Stony Brook, her Master of Science in Education from Fordham University and her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Mercy College. Most recently, Laura has practiced at Hospital for Special Surgery where she has worked with patients with motor neuron diseases. As a PT professional at Lange Neurology PC, Laura cares for patients with neurological and neuromuscular conditions, providing PT services, equipment and education to ensure our patients’ optimal physical health.

Sandy Lado, Office Manager

Sandy is a goal-focused professional with six years of experience in efficient and orderly administration of daily operations at medical practices. Sandy earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Kean University and her Master of Science degree in healthcare administration from Felician University.

In her capacity as office manager, Sandy manages patient flow to ensure prompt appointments and no or minimum wait-time in our office. She also schedules appointments in a manner that allows our physicians to dedicate as much time to their patients as needed. Sandy provides comprehensive information to our patients about their care, liaisons with their insurance carriers and ensures that Lange Neurology provides service that exceeds patient expectations.

Christie Galarza, Office Administrator

Christie has over ten years of experience in providing administrative support to physicians in healthcare environments. Christie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree and her master’s degree in organizational management from Ashford University.

In her capacity as office administrator, Christie assists with patient scheduling and registration, ensures accurate entry and maintenance of patient information and prompt retrieval of patient records. Skilled and efficient, Christie optimizes practice’s performance and ensures that the office runs at highest level of efficiency and productivity to deliver unsurpassed care to our patients.

Shadi Mirfendereski, Director of Communications and Media

In her capacity as Director of Communications and Media, Shadi supervised the development of Lange Neurology website, directed the content of the videos as well as created written text. As part of her regular duties, she updates the content of our website, produces press releases and manages our survey process.

A graduate of Barnard College, Columbia University, Shadi majored in Psychology and English and has over 20 years of experience in producing written business-related material.
